Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) center location across India

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has proposed the Vehicle scrappage policy and incentives under it for scrapping old and polluting vehicles. So, how to scrap your vehicle in easy steps, here w’ll check.

Under the vehicle scrappage policy, any vehicle which does not pass the vehicle fitness test at any authorised Automated testing station (ATS) across India, the vehicle will be declared dead and you can’t use the vehicle any more.

So, what to do now in case your vehicle fails to meet the vehicle fitness test ? You will get the ‘End of Life vehicle (ELV)’ certificate of your vehicle, which can be submitted at any ‘Registered Vehicle scrapping Centre’ to get the ‘Certificate of Deposit (COD)’ and ‘Certificate of vehicle scrapping (CVS)’. The Certificate of Deposit (COD) will get you the rebate, discount when you buy a new vehicle.

2-step process to scrap your vehicle:

1. Get your Vehicle fitness certificate from any ‘Automated Fitness centre’. If the vehicle does not pass or qualify, the vehicle will be declared dead and ‘End of life vehicle (ELV)‘ certificate will be given by Automated Fitness centre.
2. After getting ‘End of life vehicle’ certificate will be given by Automated Fitness centre, go to any ‘Registered Vehicle scrapping Centre’ to get the ‘Certificate of Deposit (CoD)’ issued by Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility. This ‘Certificate of Deposit (CoD)’ validity is of 2 year.

4. Re.Wi.Re RSVF by Tata Motors (Jaipur, Rajasthan):

Tata Motors has launched RSVF center in Jaipur, which is spread across 5 acre. It is on Jaipur-Ajmer highway. Re.Wi.Re means Recycle with Respect. This scrapping facility is for all types of vehicles, private or commercial.

5. JSW Steel has planned RVSF centre in a joint venture with New Zealand’s National Steel Holdings Limited (NSHL):

On 18th August 2022, India’s JSW Steel has planned scrapping centre in a joint venture with New Zealand’s National Steel Holdings Limited (NSHL). The location and details will be finalized very soon.
