IDA hike for CPSE, PSU and Govt. employees from 1st January 2026

AICPIN-IW for November 2025 has been released by Labour ministry on 31.12.2025. For IDA from 1st January 2026, we need AICPIN-IW of September’25, October’25 and November’25. DPE (Department of Public Enterprises) will also release the official DA circular in the January’26 month for PSU employees.

IDA hike from 1st January 2026

1. IDA from 1st January 2026 will increase by 1.6% and IDA will be 53.4%, for 2017 (3rd PRC) pay scale CPSE or PSU employees.
2. IDA from 1st January 2026 will increase by 3.6% and IDA will be 236.8%, for 2007 (2nd PRC) pay scale CPSE or PSU employees.

So, finally IDA from 1st October 2025 is more than 50% for 2017 (3rd PRC) pay scale CPSE or PSU employees, so it will trigger many many benefits for these employees like HRA, TA etc.. These long awaited benefits will be almost at par with 7th pay commission central govt. employees. Check all the benefits when DA crosses 50%.

IDA hike declared for CPSE, PSU & Govt. employees from 1st October 2025 by DPE

1. IDA from 1st October 2025 has been increased to 51.8% for 2017 (3rd PRC) CPSE or PSU employees.
2. IDA from 1st October 2025 has been increased to 233.2% for 2007 (2nd PRC) CPSE or PSU employees.
3. IDA from 1st October 2025 has been increased to 462.7% for 1997 pay scale.
4. IDA from 1st October 2025 has been increased to 774.5% / 580.9% / 464.7% / 387.2% for 1987 & 1992 pay scale (based on the pay-band).

IDA hike for 3rd PRC (2017 pay scale) PSU, CPSE from 1st October 2025 declared by DPE:

IDA for 2017 pay scale (3rd PRC) CPSE or PSU employees has been increased to 51.8% from 1st October 2025.

IDA hike for 2nd PRC (2007 pay scale) PSU, CPSE from 1st October 2025 declared by DPE:

IDA for 2007 pay scale (2nd PRC) CPSE or PSU employees has been increased to 233.2% from 1st October 2025.

IDA hike for 1997 pay scale PSU, CPSE from 1st October 2025 – declared by DPE:

IDA for 1997 pay scale CPSE or PSU employees has been increased to 462.7% from 1st October 2025.

IDA hike for 1987 & 1992 pay scale PSU, CPSE from 1st October 2025 – declared by DPE:

IDA for 1987 & 1992 pay scale CPSE or PSU employees has been increased to to 774.5% / 580.9% / 464.7% / 387.2% from 1st October 2025.

Based on the AICPI-IW data, Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) under Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises calculates the new IDA rate and releases the press note indicating the change in IDA rate.

Similarly, after the release of aicpin-iw data of September 2025, October 2025 and November 2025 by the Ministry of Labour and employment, the IDA from 1st January 2026 for PSU, CPSE and Govt. employees will be decided for 3rd PRC, 2nd PRC, 1997 pay scale and 1987 & 1992 pay scale etc.

Formula to calculate IDA rate for 3rd PRC or 2017 pay scale? Example:

• Average AICPIN (2001=100) for the last 3 quarters:
• Feb 2023 = 382.18
• Jan 2023 = 382.46
• Dec 2022 = 381.02
• Average of the quarter = 381.89
• Link point = 277.33 (as on 01.01.2017)
• Increase over Link point = 104.56 = [381.89 – 277.33]
• DA rate effective from 01.04.2023 = 37.7 = [(104.56 / 277.33) x 100]

How to calculate IDA rate for 2nd PRC or 2007 pay scale? Example:

• Average AICPIN (2001=100) for the last 3 quarters:
• Feb 2023 = 382.18
• Jan 2023 = 382.46
• Dec 2022 = 381.02
• Average of the quarter = 381.89
• Link point = 126.33 (as on 01.01.2007)
• Increase over Link point = 255.56 = [381.89 – 126.33]
• DA rate effective from 01.04.2023 = 202.3 = [(255.56 / 126.33) x 100]
